specification/documentation for trigger dependencies should be written

    Details

      Description

current trigger dependency state is underdocumented. full specification should be created and documented in the user manual as well.

parts have been documented in http://www.zabbix.com/documentation/2.0/manual/config/triggers/dependencies

still missing : vertical dependencies (in a linked chain, can a trigger depend on lower/higher level triggers, including cases with templates & also with a host attached)

Alexander has written a spec on how templated trigger dependencies should be handled. It's available here http://zabbix.org/wiki/Docs/specs/ZBX-4333

<zalex> For the file http://zabbix.org/wiki/File:Dependency2.png I'd arrange pictures this way: where one template linked - put that pictures into single line. So on top will be one picture and bottom will be two pictures.

Additionally it's not very clear what means "internal dependencies" an "external dependencies". The picture for this case is not clear, sorry, IMO.

<pavels> Under internal dependencies we mean the dependencies between the triggers being copied. E.g if we copy triggers A and B, a dependency from A to B will be internal, but from A to C - external.
