 Description

After upgrading from 3.2 to 3.4 one active item has disappeared. I see it in host configuration, but don't see in Last data. And trigger, based on this item, is active.

Looks like duplicate of ZBX-12549.

ZBX-12549 should not affect active items. Dear d0cent, can you provide more information? Do other active items of this agent work correctly? Is connection up? Are there any (network) errors in server or agent log file?

Comment by Mikhail Shepelev [ 2017 Aug 26 ]

I have only one active item.
All other items get the data successfully.
I've sent data by zabbix-sender: zabbix_sender.exe -v -z 192.168.53.61 -s ru16s01bkp -k dpsessionerrors -o 0
tshark's dump is attached.

Could you please attach screenshot of filters in latest data?

Wireshark/tshark does not recognize this file format... Anyway, can you try these two things:

  1. Increase logging level for agent's active process (zabbix_agentd -R log_level_increase=active I believe) and make sure that agent is checking this item and is sending results to the server.
  2. If agent is sending data, increase logging level for server's (if there's no proxy in between) trapper process (zabbix_server -R log_level_increase=trapper) and see if trapper gets the data and processes it correctly.

You can attach the logs and we will help you with analysis.

It's a filter in latest data

50.dump is output to STDOUT of command "tshark -npi eth0 -V host 192.168.200.50 >50.dump" on zabbix server.
I ran the command "zabbix_sender.exe -v -z 192.168.53.61 -s ru16s01bkp -k dpsessionerrors -o 0" on the server ru16s01bkp

Please also select show items without data in filter and attach screen shot, you cannot use active item as trapper item.

Comment by Glebs Ivanovskis (Inactive) [ 2017 Aug 26 ]

Dear d0cent, is it a trapper item or a Zabbix agent (active) item? I've heard that some time ago one could send values with zabbix_sender to active items and some people even used it in real life, but this "feature" has never been supported and probably does not work as previously in 3.4.

I'm inclined to close this issue as Won't Fix unless you provide agent's log.

Comment by Johnny Pinheiro Tardin [ 2017 Aug 27 ]

I have the same problem after upgrading.

Some items as zabbix agent (passive), is not received in server host.
Only some items, and others from some host is received with success.
Manually with zabbix_get is collected with success.

These items are in Queue with a long time without data.

In some cases, after restart Zabbix server, these items are collected and after some hours the problem returns.

The "timeout" setting is 30 seconds.
Items are not unsupported.

Zabbix server: 3.4.0
Zabbix proxy: 3.4.0
Zabbix agent: 3.4.0
Database: Mysql

Number of hosts: 620

Hi Glebs,
Thank you for your advice.
I changed type from active to trapper and data have become saved again.

Good! I'm closing this issue as Won't Fix then.

Dear johnnytardin, your issue looks more like ZBX-12549.
