 Description

max_input_vars PHP variables controls how many GET variables can be passed, by default value is 1000. It is better to document some notes about the value (especially on huge installations) and add the value to packages by default (Zabbix virtual host configuration config file). I suppose 10000 GET variables are enough.

Regarding packages, for example "For RHEL 7 and later the Apache configuration file for Zabbix frontend is located in /etc/httpd/conf.d/zabbix.conf."

It's done, will be available with next release of the packages. After that we can document it.

Do we actually have anything left here?

Comment by Alexey Pustovalov [ 2018 Aug 06 ]

Yes! We added new variable and we need document it in our docs: https://www.zabbix.com/documentation/3.4/manual/installation/install. Like we already have documentation for "memory_limit".

I do not agree, that page lists requirements about PHP variable values. The memory_limit PHP variable is checked during install by our front-end while max_input_vars is not. For me it looks like this ticket can be closed.

Why not to add an extra line saying that "Additional optional variable max_input_vars has been added to override default PHP values not suitable for larger installations" or something like that?

Right, added to the existing list here:
