My guess would be an issue with SMTP configuration. How is your e-mail media type configured - Connection security, authentication?

Thanks for you time Arturs.
Media type is configured as below:
Type: Email
SMTP server: SMTP.google.com
SMTP server port: 465
SMTP email: gmail_id
Authentication: checked username and password
Username: uname
Password: pass

Enabled yes

The same media type is selected in actions by send message option

Let me know if there is any other information needed.

Thanks,
Hemanth

Until ZBXNEXT-2979, Zabbix is a "less secure app" from the Google's point of view, see how you can allow less secure apps to authenticate.

Thank you Glebs for pointing out the root cause of the issue and the corresponding ZBXNEXT!

Since there is already a feature request regarding this, I'll be closing the issue as a duplicate.
