 Description   

Space utilization in /var folder of Zabbix proxy is high and being occupied by the following files.

dc8zbxproxy01:/var # find /var -type f -exec du -Sh {} + | sort -rh | head -n 5
2.1G /var/lib/mysql/zabbix/proxy_history.ibd
1.4G /var/lib/zabbix/oradiag_zabbix/diag/clients/user_zabbix/host_2891144724_110/trace/sqlnet.log
1.1G /var/lib/mysql/ibdata1
868M /var/lib/mysql/zabbix_prx/proxy_history.ibd
440M /var/lib/mysql/zabbix/items.ibd

 

Can you please explain what causes the first and third files to consume so much data , and how to reduce the space consumption ?

This is probably caused by a misconfiguration of the proxy and/or mysql.
