 Description   

When the log file encoded in SJIS is retrieved using the log key with the encoding parameter set to SHIFT_JIS, the following error occurs if a blank line (empty line) is written to the monitored log file, and no further logs are retrieved thereafter.

Failed to convert from encoding SHIFT_JIS to utf8. Error: [0x00000057]

I tested on a Japanese Windows system with a SHIFT_JIS log containing blank lines and confirmed the issue.

  • Both 7.0.8 Agent and Agent 2 have the same problem.

A fix or investigation is needed for 7.0.
(FYI) For now, use 6.0.37 agents to avoid the issue
