 Description

Suppose we have an item that is configured as shown in trapper-item.png. When sending a value from the local computer using zabbix_sender, the following is written to the log file:

28588:20101027:155300.399 Process data failed: Connection from [127.0.0.1] rejected. Allowed server is [localhost]

Failed to reproduce with 2.0 and 1.8.4rc1 versions.

it might be worth checking with a couple of combos regarding ipv6 - enabled, disabled, compiled in, not compiled in etc. or is that a different case ?

In the logs the incoming connection is ipv4, so I think ipv6 is different case. Well, name server failure could lead to similar errors for domain names. But for localhost he only way how to get similar failure would be to reassign localhost to something else in hosts file.
