when setting time period to display using zoom scrollbar and related controls, it is not possible to set it longer than the period that data is existing for. this is especially cumbersome if period desired is missing some small amount data in the beginning, and it is required to generate a graph for some set period - day, week or so.

explicitly using controls to select period without data should just work - that includes calendars and increasing or moving time period with controls below and on both sides of the zoom scrollbar.
