in user's profile, when "gui messaging" is enabled for the first time, severity checkboxes are either all marked, or all unmarked. and this seems to be browser dependent, as roughly half of the time they are marked, half - not. this also differs for slightly different versions of the same browser (mostly observed with firefox), or even same browser version on different operating systems... |

both 1.8 & trunk dev branches work ok functionally; leaving issue as is for code review. |

...and for the record, the cause was not browsers - that happened when somebody saved the profile first, then went in to enable the messages |
