 Description

When trying to import a template including discovery rules (attached), I get a ,,No permissions to referred object or it does not exist!'' error.

Importing the given file with ,,discovery rules'' turned off works well and imports everything except said rules.
All other templates import properly.

I've imported it successfully in latest version on frontend 2.0.4rc1
Try it http://www.zabbix.com/developers.php

Probably fixed somewhere already (it's not easy to find where exactly).
I'm closing it.

I have reproduced this error numerous times using 2.0.4, but it is only when I have Distributed Monitoring setup. It happens when importing to my master server only and only when I have the two check boxes for Discovery Rules checked. You have to have already added a Child node in the DM configuration and started the Zabbix Server service on the master and child node so that configuration changes are being sent between the two.

So following the DM documentation, starting the server services and then trying to import a template with default check boxes on the master node will give this error. If you uncheck all the boxes except the two discovery rules it says "imported successfully" but doesn't actually import anything.

Same problem on 2.0.4 when trying to import a template with discovery rules on a master node with DM configured.

Created: Discovery rule "Network interface discovery" on "Template OS FreeBSD".
Created: Item prototype "Incoming network traffic on $1" on "Template OS FreeBSD".
Created: Item prototype "Outgoing network traffic on $1" on "Template OS FreeBSD".
No permissions to referred object or it does not exist!
Problem on 2.0.4 when trying to import a template with discovery rules from a master node with DM configured to slave node.

This seems to be a valid bug. What needs to be done get it reopened?

with node based distributed monitoring being removed for 2.4, this is unlikely to get looked into for earlier versions
