 Description

have latest data open in one tab, filtered by some host.
in another tab, open configuration for a different host (or template). create a trigger, click through the popups, select item... list is filtered by host that is being viewed in monitoring.

if we have clicked through from some host or template, we should ignore 'profiles' value, no matter whether it comes from monitoring or config section - we should filter by host or template we clicked 'triggers' link for.

should work that way also for other entities (custom graphs, whatever)

hmm, it's not even related to other tabs, as far as i can tell. just creating triggers from trigger list, filtered by template, jumps back to host every time (presumably, from the profiles table)

I'm not sure if this is the same issue or just something manifesting in the same way but in a different place.

Say you are on the list of items page and in the filters "host1.you.com" is set, and you've been doing some work on items and then you change the host field in the filter to mail2.you.com. After that if you say "disable" an item, it will return to the list of items, but the host filter gets reset to host1.you.com, not mail2.you.com.

This happens to me on 2.0.8, so it might be fixed in 2.2. I'm not sure.

Hopefully this example helps with clarification:

When configuring a trigger, it is usually done from a Host or Template screen (https://zabbix.domain.com/zabbix/triggers.php?groupid=0&hostid=XXXXX&form=Create+trigger). If using the web based wizards to create the trigger expression it is common to open the "Condition" dialog by clicking the "Add" button (https://zabbix.domain.com/zabbix/popup_trexpr.php?dstfrm=triggersForm&dstfld1=expression&srctbl=expression&srcfld1=expression&expression=), and then select the item to be used in the trigger by clicking on the "Select" button (https://zabbix.domain.com/zabbix/popup.php?writeonly=1&dstfrm=expression&dstfld1=itemid&dstfld2=description&submitParent=1&srctbl=items&srcfld1=itemid&srcfld2=name).

The items dialog has group and host drop down menus to add to the filter. The user then has to navigate these to find the item list to find the host on which the desired item is located. In order to reduce the necessity of this, at default the selected group should be the "All" group, and the host (or template) from which the navigated to this popup. Since the hostid is present in original page URL, it should be possible to pass it in the in the subsequent request to the Condition page, and then to the Items page.

The drop down menus should not be removed of course (there are clearly use case scenarios where a trigger may involve items from multiple hosts, etc).
