 Description

IMHO the hyperlink behind 'Last change' should not point only to event details for unhidden events. It should do it on trigger level as well.
That would allow to reach event details of a trigger's recent event very easily.

Now one has:

  • either to make sure events are not hidden (on precondition the last event is not older than configured by 'Show events not older than (days)'
  • or to visit events via the trigger menu, then select a proper time period and finally use the 'Last change' hyperlink there

Attached patch aims to implement mentioned behavior.

Just wondering whether it would be better to set the URL to NULL in case of no events instead of falling back to old behavior.

Comment by Volker Fröhlich [ 2013 Dec 06 ]

Marc's version seems like the much better behaviour to me.

Should be discussed

The current implementation in 2.2 of passing the corresponding event period as well, when accessing events via last-change hyper-link, appears sufficient to me.
At triggers view it still needs a detour over events to access the related event details.
Anyhow, to me it seems to be the logically correct way:

  • Event details is only accessible from events view.
  • Accessing events via trigger menu sets filter to respective trigger
  • Accessing events via lastchange hyperlink sets the proper period additionally to trigger filter

What are the fix versions?

Comment by Alexander Vladishev [ 2019 Jun 14 ]

Monitoring->Triggers section has been replaced by Monitoring->Problems view. There is no such problem.

In older versions this will not be fixed.
