 Description   

/usr/lib/systemd/system/zabbix-proxy.service

is looking for the file /etc/zabbix/zabbix-proxy.conf

while the correct file is zabbix_proxy.conf

as result the proxy crashes when starting

Could you please describe how does the crashing manifest? For me, if I specify a non-existing configuration file, proxy simply quits with the following error message:

$ sbin/zabbix_proxy -c /asdf/asdf
zabbix_proxy [11185]: cannot open config file [/asdf/asdf]: [2] No such file or directory

Also, how did you obtain Zabbix proxy? Did you get it from repo.zabbix.com? If so, is it a packaging issue or real issue with proxy code?

The zabbix-proxy was obtained from the zabbix repo 2.4 for rhel 7

changing the Environment alone was not working i fixed it quick and dirty by changing ExecStart line
ExecStart=/usr/sbin/zabbix_proxy -c /etc/zabbix/zabbix_proxy.conf
