 Description   

It would be really great to be able to match only part of the string with regexp and return it as item value. For example I have some number in log's line and want to graph it.

ZBXNEXT-1489 is similar (this one is about log monitoring, that one about whole file contents)

data extraction would be useful for many different types of Items: log monitoring, file contents, and snmp values.

ZBXNEXT-1638 is similar as well (asks to store whole line but parse it later)

ZBXNEXT-1653 allows to extract a value from log[], but currently it's impossible to graph it (though it can still be used in triggers).

I believe this should be closed as implemented in ZBXNEXT-1653.
