It is very inconvinient that Inventory/Hosts page doesn't have a filter similar to Configuration/Hosts. It is hard to operate large number of hosts without being able to filter/search through hosts. I propose a simple approach to fix this. It is illustrated in the attached diff: a filter is added for Host, Name and OS fields of Inventory/Hosts/Host profiles:Normal page. It is very easy to modify to suit your needs, stock inventory is not very unusable without custom modifications anyway, so prepare to get your hands dirty. I do realize the feature won't be implemented by the company, but it should server as a good starting point for those who can't upgrade to 2.0. |
