 Description

I think about something like that:
A definition (defines.inc.php) that defaults to '-1' that wouldn't change anything.
If set to to '0' overview is inactivated completely.
If set to a value greater than 0, groups that have more hosts than configured assigned will be possibly grayed out and not available for selection.

A question - why ?
Is it bad performance problem for groups with many hosts ?

The main driver for me was to assure the overview is not overloaded with too many information by too large groups.
But you're right, performance could be an issue too. Not necessarily because of long running queries but of limited performance of web browsers.
