 Description

Hello, at the moment we must use ODBC to monitor a database. it would be nice to have native-client support for the sql-queries without ODBC, i think its simple possibel for the most opensource-databases..

in zabbix frontend we need, which database, loginname, password and a query

It should operate similar to DBforBIX regarding session pooling, threading etc. - but not being coded in Java
If considered for implementation ZBXNEXT-1660 should be taken into account seriously!

Agreed - somewhere there is code to call ODBC so I assume the threading, etc. is done in the server itself, so just create a module per supported DB and send the specific SQL to it.
