Description |
This patch was developed by Paul Wolneykien <[email protected]> to enable actions depending on IT services; it's based/tested on 2.2.2, we can rebase it onto 2.2.3 but would like to know if there are any outstanding problems with getting it accepted upstream or if there's anything that should be done prior to that (like writing wiki docs or tests). Here's the source repository with intermediate git commits: http://git.altlinux.org/people/manowar/packages/?p=zabbix.git;a=shortlog;h=refs/heads/service-actions |

here is rpm packages of Zabbix 2.2.3 for OpenSUSE 12.3, 13.1 |

Extended patch against 2.2.2 (added macro substitution). This doesn't apply to 2.2.3 cleanly but we'd like to know whether it looks interesting in the first place. |

A patch against pristine 2.2.2 tarball, just in case. |

Thanks for your patience. We are considering quite significant improvements of the existing functionality of IT Services in the near future. It will change the way how it works. Therefore, while the functionality provided by the patch is great, it may become irrelevant once the new improvements are in place. Thanks. |

Thank you; hope the patch can at least serve as a real-life case illustrator. |

it should probably be kept open until the desired functionality arrives - until then it is not known whether it will satisfy the need |

We plan to implement this functionality in Zabbix 6.0 LTS, stay tuned. |

Wow, 7 years after this patch has been done |

Alerting for services was implemented in ZBXNEXT-6755 as a part of a major revision of Services. Once again, thanks for your patience. |
