 Description

It would be great to have set of trigger functions to enable baseline monitoring. The functions would analyze trend data and alert users if current value is way off baseline.

I'm interesting in this feature. Did you mean that Zabbix would judge month-on-month and year-on-year data of items?
I think that Zabbix should support HDFS. Because Mysql does not fit this scenario.
Tendency analysis will be the future of enterprise-level monitor system.

jojohappy, what you actually want is probably ZBXNEXT-714

Hi okkuv9xh, ZBXNEXT-714 is a part of my opinion. And this feature's topic is analysis and alert. I think Zabbix support for scalable storage mechanism is the basis of this feature.
What you think?

Just a quick update. We are introducing two new functions for baseline monitoring in Zabbix 6.0. One will be based on weighted moving average and the second function will return number of deviations by stddevpop algorithm. Both functions will accept a time period and number of seasons as parameters.

I just update my Zabbix server to the latest Beta2 to test those new functions.

Some examples of 6.0 documentation related to trendstl is not working (maybe because we are still in beta?) Ref.https://www.zabbix.com/documentation/6.0/en/manual/appendix/functions/history

Seems a simple "typo" error, if change from single quotation mark to double is working.

Example Typo Error:

trendstl(/host/key,100h:now/h-10h,100h,2h,2.1,'mad')
TO
trendstl(/host/key,100h:now/h-10h,100h,2h,2.1,"mad")
