Description |
Check this post for a more detailed explanation: http://www.zabbix.com/forum/showthread.php?p=48551#post48551 Besides mass-exporting the Inventory (chosen)view for a Group of Hosts to Excel format, would be nice that by default the chosen collums would be all the ones that have data inserted in the corresponding fields(Not NULL. Example: OS, Serial Number, Device Vendor, Device Port Connections, Date HW Maintenance Expires). Thanks, |

just wanted to note that exporting to excel format would be very bad, csv should be used instead |

another issue regarding configurable columns : ZBXNEXT-850 |

Agreed. |

I manipulated the frontend to show a tween box and remember the column selection in the profile. This happens as a string of ids, due to the limitation to 255 bytes. If no column is chosen, a predefined default column is still shown. The order of columns is fixed. Text fields are automatically wrapped. While it serves my purposes, I'm not sure that's really the way forward. I'll upload the patch when I consider it sane. |

I attached the most clumsy and awful patch that solves my problem. It also includes the red-link proposal of |

Are there any chances, that this very useful feature will see the light of life one day? |
Comment by richlv [ 2014 Mar 06 ] |
it's currently not on the roadmap |

Why it's not in roadmap? |

It would be very useful to configure the visible columns in host inventory, e.g. we are not interested to see MAC Address and Serial Number in the list, but "Software Version A" and "B". |

This could also be a very useful feature for us, the default columns are empty in our inventory. |

So, I'd like to join to peoples who want this functionality out-of-box. |

Having a customizable Host inventory would be great Just voted for it |

This would be a really good feature for us to be able to change the names off the fields. Like, I want to use one field of the inventory as a uptime field for each device, and there isn't any filed that I can use with the right name. |
Comment by Volker Fröhlich [ 2018 Jan 17 ] |
I don't think that uptime is a figure that belongs in an inventory. |
Comment by Lucas Cardoso [ 2018 Jan 18 ] |
The main idea of this issue (that is what I think) is to be able to change the names of the inventory fields, and that's what i'm doing editting the file /usr/share/zabbix/include/hosts.inc.php. |

10 years of waiting for field custom names |

Well @Alexei did say "12 years of waiting is over" for |

Voted for this. Need a more granular and "OOTB" feature for this instead of meddling around with PHP file. |
