Description |
For hosts defined as FQDNs in zabbix, it would be nice to have a macro that would return a "short host name". Currently the only macros that return hostname are:
Unfortunately they return FQDN. P.S.: |

they actually return host name as it is configured in zabbix - whether it's host name or fqdn is up to you. |

In some scenarios this might indeed be helpful. We use for instance FQDN (consisting of up to seven sub domains) for each host name. Needless to say that this becomes quite cluttered in some frontend sites. |

I define my hosts as FQDNs (for the number of reasons), I also use auto-registration, which creates the hosts as FQDNs. I'd like to use short host name in WEB scenarios, but unfortunately I don't have such macro. Instead, I edit each host to add a user macro {$SHORT.HOST.NAME} so i can use it in the WEB scenario. |
