 Description

Allowing the use of inventory macros in global scripts would allow us to do some nifty things from within the Zabbix frontend with the data contained in the inventory and some simple scripting:

  • Create a link to a Google or OpenStreet map based on location data
  • Perform a vulnerability lookup on the OS or software fields
  • Create a link to email the Pri/Sec contactperson
  • Create a link to call the Pri/Sec contact person via VOIP
  • Ping/trace the OOB interface
  • etc.
