 Description

Hi,

It would be good to provide RPMS binary packages for el6 too (actually, only the el7 ones for x86_64 are available through http://repo.zabbix.com).
I tried on my side to just rebuild the SRPM, but it fails, due to inconsistency in the .spec file (about covering only %install section for rhel 7) :

Is there a way to track that RFE, or work with someone for this ?
Thanks a lot

kodai, please take a look.

I create agent, proxy, java-gateway for RHEL5 and 6. Zabbix 3.0 dropped PHP 5.3 support, frontend doesn't work on these distributions anymore.

For web packages, I'm considering to use rh-php56 packages from Software Collections. It is only way that all packages are fully supported by distributors.

However, these php packages have special package name and file layout. zabbix-web* packages may not work with 3rd party php packages.

Hello,

Also, we need to update the downloads page: http://www.zabbix.com/download.php

Quoting here Kodai's comment from linked ZBX-10478:

Currently there are no server packages for RHEL6 because server package without frontend is confusing for most of users.

I created Zabbix 3.0 packages for RHEL6. server & web packages under deprecated directory.

Also, thanks for the pointed out about out download page. I added RHEL 5 and 6.

Kodai, am I correct that it will be possible to install server & web on RHEL6 using "yum install ..." as usually ?
Or it will require to download such RPMs and install by "rpm -i ..." ?

I guess it's possible to install them using "yum install ...", but not sure what I can expect then.
Looks like "zabbix-web" 3.0 in RHEL7 has "php >= 5.4" dependency, but doesn't have it for RHEL6. So it's possible to upgrade but frontend will not be functioning.
Please confirm.

It's possible to use yum by adding repository configuration.

RHEL6 doesn't provide php 5.4 or later, so it's not possible to add dependency with php package. 3rd party php packages don't have "php" for the package name, like php55-php, rh-php56-php, etc. There's no way to solve it.
