 Description

Hello,

We are using Zabbix to monitoring a network of CPEs. These CPEs are moving between our different network and customer. So we created several discovery rules and an action rules to automatically add the new devices in Zabbix. We set all discovery rules that the uniqueness criteria is a value coming from snmp, which is the mac address of the devices.

Because on our management network there no name server the devices are added with the ip address as the host name. So according to the documentation, "When adding hosts, a host name is the result of reverse lookup or IP address if reverse lookup fails. Lookup is performed from the Zabbix server or Zabbix proxy, depending on which is doing the discovery. If lookup fails on the proxy, it is not retried on the server. If the host with such a name already exists, the next host would get _2 appended to the name, then _3 and so on."

Our request is to add the possibility to define automaticaly the host name as the result of an snmp value?

Thanks in advance
Best regards
