duplicates ZBXNEXT-1660 Wallet for application credentials Closed

 Description

We would really like to use macro's to store usernames / passwords, specifically for use with MySQL connectivity from the Zabbix Agent.

Storing passwords and even usernames in plain text, specifically if they have access to the database is an absolute no go for us, and probably for many other people who are security conscious!

What would be great is to have a way of encrypting the macro's that are used for usernames/passwords. Storing these encrypted in the database would be fine.

There was some talk on another feature request of a wallet or keystore to do this (https://support.zabbix.com/browse/ZBXNEXT-1660).
