 Description   

We wish us a dynamic automatic item discovery (like in NetIQ) for

  • running services
  • mounted partitions
  • network interfaces

at the runtime of the server. In big environments it is not funny to make all manually.

Nice to have:

  • applications
  • hardware components

Autodiscovery should be a framework, so it can be extended to other agents that have variable configs, eg IPMI, SNMP, not just native Zabbix agent.

This get's my vote as well and solve https://support.zabbix.com/browse/ZBXNEXT-74 as well then.

implemented in trunk as built in for filesystems & network interfaces, can be extended with custom discovery.
is this issue considered solved ?
