 Description   

 Problem view compact mode seems to be unbalanced:

Too much width wasted by:

  • Severity,
  • Status,
  • Actions, 

while most informative Problem and Host columns can't fit.

This is especially seen on small to medium screens.

Suggestions:

1. Replace text of severity with icons or color only with text onhover or just drop this column and use row highlight only

2. Replace text in Status to small icons or drop this column altogether

3. Hide duration (*if widget width less than 800px). This is basically a duplicate of *Time.  Also ** Duration can be seen in on hover anyway.

4. Limit width(margins etc) of Info column as much as possible. This is too much width wasted for small icon that rarely seen.

Recovery time. Hide Recovery time *(*if widget width less than 800px). It will be seen on hover or full screen problem view.

Hello everyone,

I was expected that version 4.0 will bring a real usable kiosk mode but unfortunately it's still not possible to hide or at least resize columns in "problems" view...

In my enterprise we are using Zabbix on several monitoring displays 24/7 and I was forced to develop a custom interface (which displays recent problems) to display a maximum of informations with a text as readable as possible, thing that Zabbix is not able to do...

The 4.0's kiosk mode is a first step but in my opinion it's still unsufficient to be used on a monitoring display (at least to display problems). Columns should be hideable, resizeable, actually the html table should be fully customizeable... As can be done, for example, by datatables...

To illustrate my problem, please see the attachments :

2: What zabbix displays in kiosk mode on "recent problems" view. -> Hostname is truncated as well as problem description...

3: What I developped to be displayed on our monitoring screens...

Is there a plan to provide a real kiosk mode on Zabbix ?

Personnaly, I think the abilities to hide and resize columns are major features to implement. End users now increasingly need to be aware of what is going on information system. And I think kiosk mode is one the best way to provide it.
