 Description

In our environment we have external screens with rPi-s that display zabbix info.

In version 3.4 it was possibleto use url parameters "fullscreen=1" but even that wont work in 4.0.

According to new features it should be possible to use kiosk=1 as url parameter so dashboard can be seen in large standalone screens.

I can confirm "fullscreen=1" is not working on 4.0.0 ( ZBX-14963 ).

But please allow setting "kiosk=1" in URL to land in kiosk mode after authorization.

RESOLVED in development branch svn://svn.zabbix.com/branches/dev/ZBXNEXT-4796.

Could you please clarify on what does the fix include? For example, does it both return "fullscreen" and add "kiosk"?

Comment by Martin Lindjärv [ 2018 Oct 11 ]

Will that information is going to be added to documentation as well?

Comment by Gregory Chalenko [ 2018 Oct 12 ]

richlv this fix include "fullscreen" and "kiosk" URL arguments which can be used to change screen layout, changes will be preserved in user profile.
Example usage:

URL Description
zabbix.php?action=dashboard.view&fullscreen=0 Set layout mode to default layout.
zabbix.php?action=dashboard.view&fullscreen=1 Set layout mode to full screen.
zabbix.php?action=dashboard.view&kiosk=1 Set layout mode to kiosk view.

martin_dino i am not sure but definitely this information will be added to "What's new" page.

Gregory, thank you for the great explanation! Just a few lines here add great value to the issue and makes the reporters and everyone interested more happy.

Otherwise from the reporter's side it looks somewhat like this - Ok, it's is hopefully fixed in next minor release but HOW - who knows. How will it look or how can this be configured is a guess, besides not every fix of such sort gets properly on What's new either.

I wish you guys will start providing more feedback about what you do to the community who cares about the proper development of the product.

And thanks for this fix, will be very useful for the TV screens.

Thank you, Gregory.

Most of the community would more than agree with Ingus' comment above, I'd even say "resume providing..."

Is this fix only for the Dashboard page or also any other page that supports fullscreen/kiosk mode (Problems, Screens, Maps etc.)?

Comment by Martins Valkovskis [ 2018 Oct 17 ]

Ingus, thanks for the comment. Indeed, the parameter support is for all pages that support fullscreen/kiosk modes. Updated the what's new entry.
