Hi 

When doing a planning to migrate Nagios infra into Zabbix, I found Nagios NRDP  feature is missing in Zabbix camp.

  1. NRDP allow one to configure a Nagios server B (Zabbix Server) to direct all its status (data/alerts) into another Nagios server A.
    1. Doing so will allow both monitoring servers be managed by two different groups of administrators(say across the globe). A server can be managed by NOC team.
    2. NOC team then can monitor all other Nagios/Zabbix servers.

My extra comments on DM.

  • DM=Distributed Motoring, not just monitoring devices in physical  and distributed segments.
  • It should allow logical segmentations on  devices which different monitoring administrators manage different devices within in same org using different Zabbix server(Ex: A ,B and C).  Future Zabbix DM feature can facilitate info from A and B passing infor upward to higher level Zabbix C server. This kind of  DM is currently available in Nagios Core(using NRDP). 
  • From this Zabbix post, this is exactly what I am hoping Zabbix 4.2+ can do in the future.
