 Description

I would LOVE to have a way of exporting a screen as a PDF (or possibly ODF) report and use it as a basic system report for archiving and reporting to the client.

The way I would see it, is that a screen with a filter applied can be exported containing all the graphs and what not.
An added bonus would be to allow customization of a header and footer for the pages via templates (company logo and info for example).
When exporting you can then select the right template.

This would save me a lot of time with copy/pasting graphs into Word docs every month.

ODF might actually be better (easily editable) although PDF will probably be easier to implement because of the standard php functions.

It may be easier to facilitate downloading of graphs via the API in which case this functionality can then be moved to an external program.

that would be great, i have taken a loot at iReports but that was not as easy as stated

now we are going to copy and paste the info.
might be a good thing for the reports tab.

Please make export option under Zabbix reports to export zabbix availability and top 100 issues...
Work on improving GUI, comparing to other monitoring tools zabbix has very poor GUI running on PHP.

qix Please clarify data and screens you need for reports.
If possible provide user stories for reporting and reports customization.
If possible provide sample reports structures you produce.

regarding PHP and ODF, there is a number of libraries, one would just have to choose the best library
http://opendocumentformat.org/developers/

palivoda, a report we have found to be particularly useful is produced by a script in plaintext (ascii-tables) and csv formats.
the script allows specifying arbitrary time periods in weeks (for example, "1-2-4" or "1-1-1-1") and uses a customisable "cutoff time" (like "Tuesday, 08:00"). it then produces a list of events fired in each time period - but only when a host was not in maintenance.

an example report in the plaintext format, showing the current week and preceding 7 weeks (reduced from the real report for a better layout; sorted by the number of alerts in the current week) :

+-----------------------------+--------------------------------------------+---------+----+----+---+---+---+---+---+
| Host | Trigger | Current | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 |
+-----------------------------+--------------------------------------------+---------+----+----+---+---+---+---+---+
| poiuy.zz.asdfgh.com | A problem with application database access | 18 | | | | | | 1 | 2 |
| poiuy.zz.asdfgh.com | Processor load is too high on {HOST.NAME} | 13 | | | | | | | |
| qwer.zxcv.lkjhgfdsa.com | Oracle database problem | 5 | 3 | 2 | 4 | 1 | 1 | | 6 |
| mkoijnbhuygv.xxx.asdfgh.com | Error count in this logfile exceeds 666 | 5 | 11 | 10 | | | | 3 | |

richlv Thanks! What about availability and capacity reports?

Please follow ZBXNEXT-6478 - PoC for schedule PDF export will be implemented in 5.4. In 6.0 we will work on new widgets to fulfill reporting gaps.

Comment by Alexei Vladishev [ 2021 May 12 ]

I believe it can be closed since we have implemented scheduled PDF reporting under ZBXNEXT-6478 in Zabbix 5.4, which is to be released very soon. If no objections, I will close this ticket in a week or two.
