I really like this idea. It would be very usefull if you want a fast look at you current readings.

I think that this is can't be considered a "trivial New Feature" ... From a business point of view this kind of graph can be the right way to use zabbix from all levels of a company.

For example: for an IT Service Manager or an IT Manager if the trigger is fired up or an item have a particular trend, these are too many informations ... He want only a "dot" for "all goods" (green) , "scream with IT operators" (yellow) or "pray for your soul" (red), no other information is needed.

Like for this, a Detailed capacity planning have too many data for an IT Manager, he want only a speedometer with aggregated data that help his process decision (in a BI view)

all that help to seperate technical view from business view, and zabbix lack of many of these "beautify" feature ...

BTW:
D3.js has a lot of interesting graph types that might be valuable in Zabbix too.
But D3.js would shift graph generation to clients - not sure if this is desired by everyone...

tpramos, the mentioned D3 initiative is started by the community.
I'm not aware of any response from upstream regarding D3 and I'm pretty sure there will be no D3 found in 2.4.

Very usefull graph. It is ideal for the sceens in DC monitoring center. I have to use other tool Grafana to reach this feature. But better to have it in one product.

@Volker Fröhlich it would be great to get new maps at least grafana is awesome for graphs...

If it was a frontend module (hint, hint) that would've been perfect!

Hint to me or Zabbix?  I could not find a way to create a module for a dashboard widget.   If I'm incorrect please let me know, my preference would be to develop the gauge as a module.  Supposedly we will see a gauge widget from Zabbix in 6.2

This new widget does not support item pattern like Pie chart ? It could have been handy.

mma, Pie chart combines multiple items into a single chart whereas Gauge has only one item as a data source.

Yes I understand, my comment is not explicit : we cannot use it on LLD. Gauge is not available on grah prototype, so there is no way to display %free disk space for example.
