The problem with the current implementation is the following: See maintenance_after_fix.jpg the last case. Unfortunately this is very common, actually its exactly the reason why maintenance mode was created. But if you use Problem==OK actions (instead of the recovery message) then you cannot suppress the OK messages during maintenance. This makes maintenance unusable if you have OK actions. I understand why it was made like this, its basically a workaround for recovery messages (because recovery messages ARE sent during maintenance). I would like to use OK actions together with maintenance mode. It allows a more fine grained control of which media types are used for sending the OK message (if different from PROBLEM). |
