I'm testing Zabbix 1.7 with proxies architecture. I configured an external check for an agent monitored by a proxy. I would expect that the external check is searched on the proxy (instead of zabbix server for non-distributed architecture) for that agent. But got an error message because the external check is not supported on the agent.

Extract from Proxy log ...
In get_value(key:test.sh)
In get_value_external([test.sh])
Item [agent1:test.sh] error: External check is not supported
Parameter [test.sh] is not supported by agent on host [agent1] Old status [0]
