If you change something in the formula of a calculated item and, say, you make a mistake: for instance if you specify a non existent key or bad data type. The item will switch to status "not supported".

When the mistake is corrected, the item doesn't switch back to normal (enabled) until 15 minutes. That's too long.

Disabling the item temporarily doesn't help.
The only trickl I found is to clone the item to a new one and destroy the old one but this has other implications.
