Starting from Zabbix 4.2, preprocessing is supported also on Zabbix proxies, with a folowing section in zabbix_proxy.conf file
### Option: StartPreprocessors
# Number of pre-forked instances of preprocessing workers.
# The preprocessing manager process is automatically started when preprocessor worker is started.
#
# Mandatory: no
# Range: 1-1000
# Default:
# StartPreprocessors=3
However, this parameter is completely missing in our Zabbix proxy configuration file documentation for 4.2 and 4.4
