Steps to reproduce:

1. Upgrade Zabbix 4.2.4 to 4.2.7
2. Look for VMware datastore items

Result:
Datastore items that were discovered before, are still being discovered, but now without data like free space ("Performance counter is not available")

Expected:
A still functioning discovery of datastores and their data.

I've implemented VMware monitoring last summer on vSphere 6.5. This was working well with Zabbix 4.2.4 and the updated VMware templates (https://support.zabbix.com/browse/ZBXNEXT-2880) for checking the datastores per VMware cluster.

Last week, I've upgraded Zabbix to version 4.2.7. Although the discovery of VMware items still works, getting datastore metrics was suddenly broken. They became "not supported" and according to the logs: "Performance counter is not available".

I've unlinked and linked the VMware template (Template VM VMware) to the VMware host, but that didn't help.

However, after downgrading back to 4.2.4, the data became available again.
