In my Zabbix server logs I am seeing large numbers of these errors:

965:20100113:115019.659 Item [example.com:net.if.out[eth1,bytes]] error: Type of received value [1047952385013] is not suitable for value type [Numeric (float)]

This is with a Postgres database.

This issue affects 1.6.8 and 1.8; I am fairly certain that it also effects 1.6.6.

There is a patch at the first link, although I am unsure of its correctness.

As this makes Zabbix of limited use with Postgres, I have marked this as Critical, I hope that this is appropriate.
