housekeeper events deletion too heavy

      CentOS 8
      MariaDB 10.3

      Steps to reproduce:
      1. have many records in events table (about 10M records in my environment)
      2. execute housekeeper and delete old events

      Result:
      MariaDB gets busy and this causes high load average and high disk utilization for more than 10 minutes.

      Expected:
      reduce the load in housekeeper events deletion.
