When monitoring logs with a logrt key you can put file name as regex
https://www.zabbix.com/documentation/5.0/manual/config/items/itemtypes/zabbix_agent
Firts parameter is split on file name (that is regex!) and folder path
at the same time, the spelling like
/var/log/some/path/some.log$
is intuitively perceived as an indication of a specific file but it match for example /var/log/some/path/new_some.log log file
What about to mention such case in example and make cross references:
https://www.zabbix.com/documentation/5.0/manual/config/items/itemtypes/zabbix_agent
and https://www.zabbix.com/documentation/5.0/manual/config/items/itemtypes/log_items
to make it easier to look for an example and description
