Dear Support,

when we upgraded to 5.x branch (tested on 5.0.4 and current 5.4.9) we found that Name field in Latest Data and other views (e.g. Configuration->Hosts->Items) behave strange - gives unexpected results. Some expected items are shown, some are missing in output.

E.g. view shows value 'Gi2/0/13 () ifOperStatus' but if I search for 'Gi' or '13', row is missing. When I enter 'Op', it is returned. After some investigation I found that it is probably caused by sentence in manual:

For better search performance, data is searched with macros unresolved.

So I checked the item configuration and I found that it is item created by LLD template. Name of the field is '$2 () ifOperStatus' where $2 is 'Gi2/0/13'.

Then I tested that if I filter Latest Data for string '$2' I really see all items having '$2' in name.

So for first look it works as expected. But from user's point of view it is totally nonsense!

We (and I expect many others) are using LLD and we are not able to find nearly any item we have in the system now. In 4.x releases it worked fine.

So my question is whether it can be configured to search in shown/expanded text? If not, I would like to raise change request for it.
