Data From External Script Not Updated on Server

      It looks like the malfunctioning proxies are NOT calling connect_to_server(), put_data_to_server(), send_data_to_server(), and recv_data_from_server() to update the server. The external check gets executed, but the data is never sent back to the server. Under what configuration or conditions would this not happen?
