Steps to reproduce:
1) Create Dashboard.
2) Add "Map navigation tree" widget.
3) Add "Map" widget.
4) In Map add "Map navigation tree" widget (using arrow near Select button).
5) Save dashboard.
6) Navigate to Administration->General->Modules.
7) Disable "Map navigation tree".
8) Navigate back to created Dashboard.
9) Copy/paste Map widget.

10) Open copied Map widget and update it adding any available Map.

Result:
Original Map widget changed it display message.

Expected:
something different.
