Documentation about macro functions would benefit from better explanations, examples and some reformatting:

1) Examples for all macro functions should be in the same format. Now we use 3 different formats on the same page.

2) We should explain that single quotes are not supported (as we do in item key format)

3) We should explain what happens if there is no match for functions like regsub, iregsub, regrepl, tr

4) We should give some more complicated examples, like this

5) We should stress that user macros are also supported by macro functions (since 7.0). Even though we briefly mention it initially, it can easily go unnoticed because all examples are about {ITEM.VALUE}
