Steps to reproduce:

1. Open form to edit Preprocessing steps for Item
2. Choose step, which has Parameter with number/macro validation (In range, f.e.)
3. Insert text {$A}}

Result:
No inline validation error is displayed. If you try to save this, API returns error.

Expected:
Displays correct message A floating point value is expected
