Description:
After upgrading our Zabbix environment from version 6.4.18 to 7.0.18, we noticed that some web scenarios originally created in Zabbix 6 no longer inherit template tags on their triggers.
- Newly created web scenarios in the same template (created directly under Zabbix 7) work correctly — their triggers properly inherit tags from the parent template.
- However, older web scenarios that were created before the upgrade (under 6.4) have lost this inheritance.
- The issue is specific to triggers referencing web scenario items (e.g. web.test.fail, web.test.time).
- When such a trigger fires, its tags are now empty or incomplete compared to equivalent new triggers.
Steps to reproduce:
- In Zabbix 6.4, create a web scenario in a template and a trigger referencing it.
- Upgrade the instance to Zabbix 7.0.x.
- Check the trigger tags — they no longer inherit the template tags.
- Clone the same web scenario → the new copy’s triggers correctly inherit tags again.
Additional notes:
The problem seems to affect only the internal linkage between httptest and its trigger(s) after migration. No data loss or functional error, but tag inheritance is broken for migrated web scenarios.
Could you please confirm if this is a known issue or regression introduced in 7.0, and whether there is a recommended way to rebuild the missing linkage without recreating the web scenarios (to preserve history)?
Thank you.
