Hello Grafana-Zabbix Team,

 

I am experiencing an issue while configuring a Zabbix datasource using the Grafana-Zabbix plugin.

 

Environment

Grafana: 13.2.2

Grafana-Zabbix Plugin: 6.7.0 / 6.8.0

Zabbix Server: 7.4.14

Ubuntu Server

Problem

When testing the datasource, Grafana reports:

 

Could not connect to given URL

Investigation performed

I captured the traffic between Grafana and Zabbix.

 

Grafana successfully calls:

and receives:

 

{ "jsonrpc":"2.0", "result":"7.4.14" }

Grafana then performs:

"method":"user.login",

}

and receives a valid session token:

 

{ "jsonrpc":"2.0", "result":"568016acd9017b7ee992a3f764f91c40" }

This confirms:

 

Connectivity between Grafana and Zabbix is working.

The API endpoint is reachable.

User authentication succeeds.

Credentials are valid.

Despite the successful authentication and API version detection, Grafana still reports:

 

Could not connect to given URL

Additional information

During troubleshooting I also tested API tokens. The plugin generated requests using:

 

Authorization: Bearer <token>

and Zabbix returned:

 

{

"jsonrpc":"2.0",

"error":

{ "code":-32602, "message":"Invalid params.", "data":"Not authorized." }

}

I then switched back to username/password authentication and confirmed that user.login succeeds.

 

Question

Is there any known issue or compatibility problem between:

 

Grafana 13.2.2

Grafana-Zabbix Plugin 6.7.0 / 6.8.0

Zabbix 7.4.x

where datasource validation fails after successful API version detection and successful user authentication?

 

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
