Affects Version/s: 7.0.31, 7.0.32
-
Component/s: Packages (C)
-
None
Steps to reproduce:
- Install or upgrade zabbix-agent2 (e.g. version 1:7.0.32-2+debian13).
- Ensure that no .conf files exist in /etc/zabbix/zabbix_agent2.d/plugins.d/.
- Run the package configuration process (e.g. dpkg --configure zabbix-agent2).
Result:
The post-installation script fails with the following error:
{{{}Setting up zabbix-agent2 (1:7.0.32-2+debian13) ...
chown: cannot access '/etc/zabbix/zabbix_agent2.d/plugins.d/ceph.conf': No such file or directory
dpkg: error processing package zabbix-agent2 (--configure):
installed zabbix-agent2 package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1 {}}}
As a result, the package configuration fails and dpkg returns exit status 1.
This happens when the post-installation script attempts to change the ownership of plugin configuration files that do not exist.
Expected:
The post-installation script should complete successfully even if no plugin configuration files are present.
The chown command should handle missing files gracefully. One possible solution would be to use the -f option (chown -f) to suppress errors caused by missing files.
This would prevent the package configuration from failing when optional plugin configuration files, such as ceph.conf, are not present.
