latvian translation decisions

XMLWordPrintable

an issue to note down list of current things to figure out regarding latvian translation.
adding them here because these decisions are not easy and i can't just improve the translations

      1.
msgid "Action \"%s\" no operations defined."
      msgstr "Darb?bai \"%s\" nav defin?tas oper?cijas."

operation would be better translated as "darb?ba", but what to do about action ?

      2.
      msgid "Item [%1$s:%2$s] unlinked."
      msgstr "R?d?t?js [%1$s:%2$s] atvienots."

      msgid "Item added"
      msgstr "R?d?t?js pievienots"

"vienot" is used both for item creation and linking operations. maybe "added" would be better translated as "izveidots" ?

      3.
      msgid "Label location"
      msgstr "Iez?mes izvietojums"

"iez?me" seems to be quite unclear. might be "virsraksts", but can be below the element...

      4.
msgid "Trigger [%1$s] already exists on [%2$s]"
msgstr "Trigeris [%1$s] jau eksist? uz [%2$s]"

not jut latvian translation, original string should be improved first. in lv, getting rid of "uz" is required. in en, it's not mentioned what "on" refers to - it should say whether that's host, template or whatever. then, lv translation could be fixed and improved to say something along
"Mezglam [%2$s] jau ir izveidots trigeris [%1$s]."

      5.
"maintenance" is currently translated as "uztur?Ε‘ana", which is technically correct, but doesn't fit the context that well. no better ideas, so currently just sticking it here for consideration

      6. "unknown" in most places is translated as "nav zin?ms", but a bit better might be "nezin?ms" (also slightly shorter )
