A maintenance period (with data collection) is configured to repeat between 23:00 and 5:00 each day. During this time each night, one of the monitored items changes it value so that normally it would fire a trigger and cause e-mail alerts to be sent. Since this is scheduled maintenance operation, I use the maintenance period to suppress alerts during this time. The item changes values in a period which is completely contained in the maintenance period, the value exceeds trigger levels between around 1:30 and 3:00 and then returns to normal range. Therefore, I would expect to not receive any e-mail alerts. However, at 5:00 when the maintenance period ends, an e-mail alert is sent with trigger status OK. No alert is sent when the value changes to PROBLEM state. So, the state is OK both on entering and on exiting the maintenance period and only changes to PROBLEM and back during maintenance. I would expect no alerts to be sent in such situation.
