in user's profile, when "gui messaging" is enabled for the first time, severity checkboxes are either all marked, or all unmarked. and this seems to be browser dependent, as roughly half of the time they are marked, half - not. this also differs for slightly different versions of the same browser (mostly observed with firefox), or even same browser version on different operating systems...
